The Calgary Stampede parade is in full swing downtown with dozens of marching bands, cowboys on horses, and colourful floats winding their way through the streets.
The Parade officially kicks off Stampede 101, which Mayor Nenshi says will be even more meaningful than the centennial celebration last year given all the hard work that's taken place to clean up the city following the flooding.
Nenshi says Calgarians should not be afraid to take a few days to have fun after the stress many have been under.
