Later this summer, the Asus K009 which you and I know as the Google Nexus 7 2 will see its US launch. And with some of the biggest shoes to fill imaginable, expectations are extremely high as to the specs and features it will deliver.
After the bang-for-buck package the original Nexus 7 gave the world, Google?s next tablet needs to be a barnstormer.
Well, the good news is that various leaks stripping-down the Asus K009 paint a picture of a Google Nexus 7 2 that ups the ante in every department. From a vastly superior CPU to a beyond-1080p HD screen and with the grateful inclusion of a 5-megapixel camera, the Nexus 7 2 is likely to change the face of the 7-inch tablet PC market forever.
In fact, the only concern has been that as to whether or not Google will once again be able to hit the mark when it comes to price as this was of course a key selling-point of the Nexus 7?it was cheap as chips!
The answer it would appear is a pleasing one ? the folks over at Digitimes have stated in no uncertain terms that the Google Nexus 7 2 will retail for just $199 to $249 in price for the 16GB wi-fi only version.
If this is the case, rivals like the iPad Mini 2 and the Microsoft Surface Mini are going to have their work cut out in making any kind of a name for themselves. Chances are that neither will offer the same kind of power or the same value for money ? Google could once again have it in the bag with this year?s Nexus 7 follow-up
And in a related note just to stir up a little more excitement, there?s also talk of Google going all-out this summer with a joint Nexus 7 2 and Moto X release date. Should Google get the next Nexus 7 on the table before the end of August, analysts see up to 10 million units being sold before the end of the year.
