SPRINGFIELD, Ore. - The man accused of faking cancer to get people to give him money pleaded not guilty to five felony counts of theft Tuesday.
Springfield police arrested Charles Embleton a week earlier on Feb. 21 at Lane Community College.
Embleton was released from jail the same day due to overcrowding.
Police said more victims had come forward since Embleton was first accused of faking cancer last October. KVAL News asked Embleton at the time whether or not he had cancer.
"I don't really know how to respond to that," he said at the time.
The next hearing in the case is March 14 at 2:30 p.m.
