On Your Next Orlando Vacation ? Try Something ?Off the Beaten Path?

Lake Eola overlooking Downtown Orlando

There is so much more to an Orlando vacation than just Walt Disney World, Universal Studios, Legoland, SeaWorld and Kennedy Space Center, as a matter of fact, most residents rarely set foot in a theme park much less anywhere near the tourism areas. However, I would like to give you a few recommendations ?Off the Beaten Path? areas that most vacationers miss?

Downtown Orlando

The city center of Central Florida Orlando, the downtown area is full of unique modern skyscrapers, and is also rich in history. Checking out all of their local artists and entertainment is certainly worth visiting. Small typical places like Sak Comedy Club is one of the many local hot spots worth checking out. Always make sure to take a walk along Lake Eola Park, a gorgeous area of downtown where you will see the well known Lake Eola Fountain ? the perfect picture spot! You will also find the Walt Disney Amphitheater and many unique shops, sidewalk cafesand restaurants along Thornton Park. At Heritage Square, you will find the historic Orange County Regional History Center and the impressive Orlando Public Library. Nearby is Wall Street Plaza, believe it or not this is a big nightlife area and a very popular place to watch Orlando Magic games during the NBA season. The Orlando Magic games are really great entertainment, not only for the game, but for the full

Bob Carr Performing Arts Center

experience surrounding it in the gorgeous new Amway Center. Also, Downtown Orlando you will find Orlando Avenue which will bring you to Orlando City Hall. Don?t forget to take a peek in to the luxurious Grand Bohemian Hotel. This hotel is the perfect place to go for a fine dining experience at The Boheme restaurant or just stop by for a coffee at Starbucks ? also located inside the Hotel. Finally, I would definitely recommend checking out the latest performance at the Bob Carr Performing Arts Center.

Orlando?s Downtown area is very accessible from both I-4 and the toll road 408. There is even a free bus system within the downtown area.
